As a community interest company, it means we can apply for funding from organisations such as Children In Need, The National Lottery, The Youth Futures Foundation, and other philanthropic entities to deliver workshops for free, to the people who need it the most.

Beats Not Blades
Bringing an innovative, arts-based approach to solving the issues of knife crime and youth violence, we teamed up with the Home Office to deliver our Beats Not Blades anti knife-crime education programme. Delivered over two years across Wales, we developed a pro-active, early intervention prevention programme to educate young people about the dangers of carrying knives and to give them the tools to make informed decisions and avoid situations that may lead to violence. Using music and songwriting as our hook, we worked with over 1000 young people to explore the dangers and consequences of carrying a knife and immersed them in the subject through writing, producing, and recording their own anti-knife crime songs.

Rewise Foundation was proud to be awarded grant funding from BBC Children and Need and the Youth Futures Foundation to deliver a 1-year youth skills and arts community project in Swansea. Youth Futures Foundation shares our desire for young people from disadvantaged and marginalised backgrounds to have improved employment outcomes.
To help us achieve our common goal we designed the Tune Up project, arts-based employability skills and confidence-raising programme delivered in Swansea to over 100 young people. Our unique approach to youth work and skills development saw us building the self-confidence and self-belief in young people through group music workshops where they wrote and recorded their own songs about the challenges and opportunities of living in Swansea, supported and mentored by our in-house youth tutors and professional musicians.

Summer of STEM Workshops
Summer of STEM was a community STEM outreach project funded by Swansea County Borough Council and delivered at community hubs across Swansea for young people aged 8 to 18. This free project aimed to ignite an interest in STEM learning through fun hands-on group activities. Participants got the chance to build and programme a Bluetooth-controlled model surf-bus using our own patented STEM kits. Participants followed easy-to-use animated instructions, learnt about basic electronics, discovered the world of coding and were supported along the way by our down-to-earth STEM tutors. Once built, learners got the chance to race their surf buses against each other’s and compete in obstacle course challenges.
We believe STEM and technology are the future, our interactive approach can spark curiosity and a passion for learning, motivating participants to explore and pursue knowledge independently. Rewise Foundation gives everyone the chance to engage with STEM learning through our fully funded and free outreach programmes like the Summer of STEM project.

In 2023, Rewise Foundation was awarded funding from the Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver arts community arts engagement activities across Swansea. Our free music and songwriting workshops provide young people aged 8-18 the chance to make their own music and write their own songs, supported by our tutors and professional musicians.
Music and the arts play an undervalued role in today’s fast-paced society. Music inspires people to think creatively and express themselves in unique ways. It allows individuals to convey their thoughts, emotions, and perspectives, building a more vibrant and expressive community. We are proud to be able to give young people in Swansea the opportunity to try music activities for the first time and to provide a positive outlet for their creativity and energy.
